Wait, Do not Wilt

“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!”(Psa 27:13—14). The person who penned this Hebrew poem expresses his trust in the Lord. Line by line, he describes how he […]

Fling Your Backpacks over to the Lord

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved” (Psa 55:22). A line in the famous hymn, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” asks, “Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load of care?” Most of us would answer “Yes.” We carry […]

Grace over Technology

“… and that all this assembly may know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hand” (1 Sam 17:47). Read: 1 Sam 17:1—58. When the epic duel between David and Goliath was staged, the Philistines had a monopoly over iron […]

Roaring Lion and Safe Stronghold

“The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earthquake. But the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel” (Joel 3:16). The Lord never accommodates sin in any shade, but he acts to stop it and protects his people. Like the […]

God’s Master Plans Only Requires a Minority

“The LORD said to Gideon, ‘You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength’” (Judges 7:2). Read: Judges 7:1—25. Over 30,000 people gathered in response to Gideon’s call to fight the Midianites who were […]

Eat and Remember

“As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before the testimony to be kept” (Exod 16:34). Read: 16:1—36. We should not only enjoy God’s blessings but commit them into our memory to lead a life of gratitude to God. The provision of Manna was an extraordinary instance in the whole of the Bible. It […]

Dress up for the Show

“In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’S Passover” (Exodus 12:11). If you are planning an early morning trip with small children, sending them to bed in traveling clothes (except […]

Leavers and cleavers on the journey of life

Never lose your energy, never surrender your vision, never dampen your love for the Lord because of deserters. Leaving and cleaving is part of the game of life. God in his economy has people who will remain steadfast in our life and our ministry. Thank God for them. Satan always has his secret agents planted in all turns of our life. We must be aware of that. But also count on God’s lieutenants who would stand steadfast with us. We serve God’s purpose with them.

Faith loves landing on scarecrows!

Scarecrows are placed on farms to scare the birds away. Even though the scarecrows have only a skewed resemblance to human beings who can harm them, birds go nowhere near them. But some birds are smart enough to tell the scarecrow from a real human. They know that they are just hay for the body, a broken pot for the head and still. These birds also know that the scarecrow is placed where there is something to eat. No one puts a scarecrow where nothing is grown. Instead of being scared away, they dare to land on the scarecrows to enjoy the feast the ripe field offers. This is the difference between faith and fear. (Click the title to read further.)
